This is me. Well this was me. 6 years ago.
I left Cambridge to pursue a career in consulting, excited to tackle the most important challenges for the world’s biggest companies - just like what they tell you at careers fairs right?
Well the reality looked more like this.
Endless late nights copying, pasting, and formatting. And it’s the same story for thousands of smart graduates year after year in a story as old as Bill Gates.
But not for much longer. For the first time in human history, software can think and write as well as human beings. And this is just the beginning.
a16z said that software is eating the world, but till recently, its been eating it slowly. Just 10% of US GDP is software spend, vs. 70%+ for services. Agentic platforms are now taking over work traditionally done by people.
At Charter, we’re on a mission to free graduates from a life of manual repetitive work in Excel and Powerpoint. We know this industry inside out (ex-McKinsey, Bain) and have the customer relationships to bring our product to market.
Our co-founder and CTO, Ollie (ex-AI lead @ Mathison.ai) has built a great product, but needs some top tier engineers to accelerate product development. We’re looking for ambitious, high agency founding engineers who can ship enterprise AI at speed.
We're a friendly bunch with engineering / product experience and domain expertise in the space we’re building in
